Dave Singleton Signs Professional Basketball Contract in Morocco

Albright College alum Dave Singleton '13 has signed a professional basketball contract with CMC Casablanca in Morocco.

Cercle Municipal Casablanca plays in the "Nationale 1", the top division of professional basketball in Morocco. CMC has won two league championships in its history.

Singleton transferred to Albright midway through the 2011-12 season from Marquette University, where he had redshirted following two Division I seasons with High Point University.

Last season he was the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year and became the ninth All-American in program history, with honorable mention honors from DIII News.

"David epitomizes everything I would expect in a client," said Singleton's agent Gilad Berkowitz. "He's extremely hardworking, and this will be a springboard for the international community to see what he can do as a professional athlete."

Singleton spent this summer training all over the country. He was a top participant in a combine held by Canadian professional team Halifax Rainmen, spent time training in Washington D.C. with several NBA players, and attended a pro overseas combine in Las Vegas in July.

Most recently, he appeared in one game for the ABA's North Dallas Vandals. He totaled 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting, six assists and three rebounds in a 133-128 victory over the Conway Cyclones.

With the Moroccan season starting in December, Singleton will be leaving this weekend for Casablanca. He is the second Albright alum to sign with a team overseas this year, following Derek Hall '12 joining Hungary's Marso-Vagep NYKK.
