Tournament Results
GETTYSBURG, Pa. - In their final tournament of the fall season, the Lions placed tied for second at the Gettysburg College Fall Invitational Tuesday afternoon. With a score of 331, the Lions found themselves even with Keystone College and McDaniel College.
Taking the tournament championship were the Falcons of Messiah College with a 300 (+12). Four of the top-5 finishers also belonged to Messiah, with Dan Wort earning the individual championship with a final score of 73 (+1).
For the red and white freshman Joe Tenuta closed out his first fall with a seventh place finish and a score of 80 (+8). Behind him was Matt Osorio who was tied for 13th place. The junior closed out the afternoon with a score of 82 (+10).
Erik Thorn and Brett Cybulski finished just one stroke apart from each other. Thorn placed tied for 21st with a score of 84 (+12), while Cybulski ended the afternoon with a 85 (25th place, +13).
Posting a 36th place finish at Gettysburg was freshman Brody Blessing. The McVeytown, Pa. native recorded an 89 (+17) on the afternoon.
Overall it was a very successful fall for the Lions, as they recorded five top-10 finishes as a team, which included a first place finish at Lebanon Valley College. They also managed to retain the Yocum Cup for the third straight year, and defeated Messiah College and Lebanon Valley in heads-up play.
The team will return to action in the spring and will look to make another run at this year's conference championship.
