WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - In the first day of the 2009 Middle Atlantic Conference Championship Swim meet senior swimmer Adrienne Peoples (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) claimed the only top finish on the women's side in the 500 yard freestyle event. The senior swimmer closed out the event with a final time of 5:24.43, which was a season best for her.
To start off the afternoon, the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Kathryn Oeste (Kennett Square, PA/Unionville), Lauren Onusko (Winstead, CT/The Gilbert School),
Aimee Snyder (Reading, PA/Muhlenberg), and Allison Fies (Reading, PA/Muhlenberg) finished in second place in what turned out to be a very close heat as they were defeated by Misericordia by less than one second.
Also competing in the 500 yard freestyle were Jill Franc (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrenceville) and Rebecca Woskoff (Mount Sinai, NY/Mount Sinai). The two swimmers posted final times of 5:53.11 and 5:55.49 respectively.

In the 200 yard IM, Jess Williams (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) closed out the event in third place with a time of 2:18.83, while Sarah Noonan (Frederick, MD/Urbana) trailed her teammate by one second to finish in fourth place for the Lady Lions.
A total of three Albright swimmers qualified for the finals in the 50 yard freestyle. Snyder led the trio with a time of 25.52 which placed her third overall. Oeste ended the event in seventh place with a time of 25.68, while Onusko earned 14th place with a time of 26.65.
In the day's final event the 400 yard medley relay, the Lions recorded a third place finish with a time of 4:12.99.
