READING, PA - The Albright Women's Swim Team defeated Arcadia University in impressive fashion Saturday afternoon to keep their win streak alive. The final score of the meet was Albright 102, Arcadia University 76. The Lady Lions improve to 4-0 on the year, while the Knights drop to 0-2-1.
The Lions wasted no time getting started in the first event of the afternoon taking the victory in the 400 yard Medley Relay. The winning team of Tara McAdams (Phoenixville, PA/Great Valley), Katy Oeste (Kennett Square/Unionville), Jess Williams (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan), and Erika Giberson (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) won the race with a time of 4:29:03.
Adrienne Peoples (Wilmington, DE/Brandywine) won the 1000 yard Freestyle by checking in with a time of 11:13:74. That win was followed up with another solid victory for the Red and White by
Aimee Snyder (Reading, PA/Muhlenberg) who took home the 200 yard Freestyle with a time of 2:04:87.
Oeste was able to get her second win of the afternoon when she won the 50 yard Freestyle in 26:40. In the 200 yard Individual Medley, Albright notched another victory, this time by Jill Franc (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrence) when she completed the heat in with a time of 2:33:26.
Jess Williams got her second win in the pool on Saturday when she won the 100 yard Butterfly with a time of 1:03:34. The 100 yard Freestyle was also a win for Albright, this time because of the effort of Allison Fies (Reading, PA/Muhlenberg) as she was able to finish with a time of 55:42.
McAdams continued the winning ways with a victory in the 100 yard Backstroke when she clocked in at 1:08:42. Sarah Noonan (Frederick, MD/Urbana) followed that up with a win in the 500 yard Freestyle with a time of 5:35:67.
The Knights from Arcadia were able to take the 100 yard Breaststroke in the next race, but the Red and White wrapped up the meet with a victory in the 400 yard Freestyle Relay. The winning team for the Lions consisted of Fies, Oeste, Noonan, and Kelly Williams (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) who was able to hold off a strong push at the end to finish with a time of 3:50:00.
The Red and White will take to the pool again next Saturday afternoon in a home meet against Messiah College starting at 2:00 p.m.
