Box Score
The Albright College women's lacrosse team fell Saturday at home to Freedom Conference opponent Misericordia, by a final score of 23-12.
Freshmen
Nicole Rohrbach and
Meghan Wilson each had four goals, while Rohrbach added an assist and six draw controls. Harkins scored twice and had an assist, while
Tia Claxton also scored twice.
After Wilson had opened the scoring, Misericordia ran off six unanswered goals in a span of just over seven minutes.
With 17:45 left in the first half, MU's
Brooke North and
Emily Foley each hit the post in quick succession, before Foley tallied the Cougars' sixth of that run.
Harkins and Wilson struck late in the half however to keep it close at 8-5. Albright goalie
Arlena Diep made a nice low save on Foley with two minutes to go, protecting that scoreline heading into the break.
Claxton sprinted past the entire Cougar defense five minutes into the second half but her point-blank shot was somehow stopped by MU goalie
Erika Proctor (13 saves). Misericordia would record seven of the first eight points after halftime to break the game open.
With 27 seconds remaining Rohrbach was fouled by Proctor, allowing her a free-position shot with the goalie behind her and the net open.
Melina Juliano and
Kate Pagnotta scored in the final 12 seconds to push the final scoreline to 23-12.
Foley had four goals for the visitors, while Cerrone,
Krista Shenk, North, Pagnotta and Juliano each had three to give Misericordia six hat tricks on the day.
Albright is 4-7 and will begin Commonwealth Conference play with a Thursday home matchup vs. Widener. MU is 4-5 overall.
