Hand Scores Late Winner at King's

Box Score

An 85th minute goal from sophomore Erin Hand was the difference as the Albright College women's soccer team left King's with a 1-0 victory, Saturday in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

It was the Monarchs' Homecoming and they had some luck as the woodwork denied Albright on three separate occasions.

Defender Alissa Marcarelli hit the crossbar in the 12th minute of a scoreless first half. Just before that, Jordan Cassidy won a header off Jena Muller's corner but put it wide.

Przybyszewski then had a good look in the 20th minute, but was also denied by the crossbar.

The woodwork continued to frustrate Albright as Cassidy put one off the post, less than five minutes into the second half.

Freshman Kelly Burian (2-0) earned her first career shutout for Albright, making two saves.

The Lions are 5-2 and have a week off before beginning Commonwealth Conference play, next Saturday at Lebanon Valley.
