Box Score
Junior
Erin Hand scored a late winning goal as the Albright College women's soccer team defeated Immaculata University, 2-1 on the road Wednesday.
Hand took a through ball from freshman
Megan O'Brien, and chipped it over the Mighty Macs' goalie for the winner.
Immaculata had tied it up early in the second, as
Rachel Gannon dribbled around the goalkeeper for a 1-1 scoreline.
Freshman
Emily Sousa had two shots for Albright saved right after Gannon's tally, but the game stayed tied until Hand's late strike.
Albright, looking for its first victory of the season, jumped all over the Mighty Macs early.
After several Lion corner kicks, Sousa beat her defender outside the penalty area and slipped a shot past the goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead.
The Lions kept coming, as Hand was saved twice in the first half and Sousa fired a chance wide of the post.
Red and White goalkeeper
Alexis Lorusso kept the lead heading into halftime, with two saves in the final 10 minutes of the period.
Albright (1-2 overall), will host Penn State-Harrisburg next Wednesday.
