READING, Pa. -- Albright freshman cross country runner
Chad Bomgardner turned in another outstanding performance on Saturday as he won the individual title at the 2014 Alvernia Invitational at the Berks County Youth Recreation Facility.
It marked the second meet that Bomgardner has won this season as he also captured top honors at the Penn State-Harrisburg Invitational. Bomgardner claimed the top honors at the Alvernia Invitational as he finished the 8k course in a time of 29:09.0 to edge Brian Knorr of the University of Valley Forge who completed the race in 29:32.0.
In the last three meets, Bomgardner has finished first, second and first to lead the Albright team.
Trey Thatcher notched a top-10 finish as he placed seventh overall in 32:01.0.
Malik Sylla placed 12th overall in a time of 32:56.0 to complete a strong showing by the Albright trio.
Alvernia captured first place in the team standings with 33 points, while Penn State-Berks was second with 34 points.
