ANNVILLE, Pa. -- Albright freshman Chad Bomgardner posted a 28th-place finish highlighting the Lion performances at the 2014 Middle Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Union Canal Tunnel Park.

Bomgardner, who was the Lions top finisher in every meet this season, finished the 8k course in a time of 27:10.37 to place 28th overall. Bomgardner just missed earning all-conference honors as the top-20 runners are awarded All-MAC.

Trey Thatcher also competed for Albright as he placed 97th overall in a time of 30:31.12.

Widener captured the men's team championship with 27 points, while Messiah placed second with 60 points.Ernie Pitone of Widener captured the individual title as he won the race in a time of 25:00.66.

Jo Carter represented the Lions women's cross country team as she placed 103rd overall and completed the 6k course in 28:09.15.

Misericordia captured the women's team title with 53 points and DeSales finished second with 65 points. Josey Rupert of Eastern captured the individual title by finishing the course in a time of 22:39.55.
