Mackenzie Faight and
Kendra Delgado each scored goals, but St. John Fisher defeated the Albright field hockey team 4-2 on the final day of play of the Connie Harnum Classic at Susquehanna University.
After being limited to just one shot in its season-opening loss to Susquehanna, Albright had a much different offensive result on Saturday as it racked up 18 shots and scored its first two goals of the season.
Faight put Albright ahead 1-0 at the 6:21 mark of the first half when she redirected a shot by
Amanda Smith for the Lions first tally of the season.
St. John Fisher (1-1) rallied to score the next four goals to take a 4-1 lead before Delgado made it 4-2 when she converted a penalty stroke for her first goal of the season.
Gabby Frake went the distance in the net for the Lions and made six saves.
Smith had five shots to lead Albright, while Faight had three and
Sam Chichearo,
Jessie Leonardis and
Lauren Swavely each had two shots.
