READING, Pa. -- Albright freshman
Christine Allison made four saves helping lead the Lions to a 0-0 tie with Susquehanna on Sunday at Shirk Stadium.
The two teams staged a shootout following the conclusion of the match to determine a winner for the two-day Crusader Cup co-hosted by Alvernia. Albright won the shootout and thus won the Cup following its victory over Penn State Altoona on Saturday.
Allison made two point-blank saves in the first period to keep Susquehanna off the scoreboard and finished with four saves in 110 minutes of action.
Susquehanna outshot the Lions 15-9, but neither team was able to generate a sustained offensive attack on the afternoon.
The Lions best chance to score came in the first overtime when
Emily Diaz headed a ball at net, but Susquehanna keeper Jordyn Slocum came up with the save.
Natalie Wilson had three shots and Diaz finished with two shots for Albright.
Emily Sousa,
Suzanne Kuhrmann,
Crissy Terraces and
Karis Pennington each had one shot.
Susquehanna was paced offensively by Kate Cantrell who had four shots and Emily Sullivan finished with three shots.
Albright is now 2-2-1 overall on the season, while Susquehanna has a 2-1-2 overall mark.
Albright returns to action on Wednesday (Sept. 19) when it visits Goucher for a non-conference match beginning at 7 p.m.
