ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- The Albright field hockey team extended its winning streak to three straight with a 5-1 non-conference victory over Cedar Crest on Tuesday.
Five different players scored for the Lions as they notched their first three-game winning streak since the 2013 season.
Mackenzie Faight,
Tracy Snyder,
Amanda Smith,
Kasey Neiderer and
Amanda Long each scored goals for the Lions.
Albright, which has scored 16 goals in the last three games, continued its offensive assault against the Falcons on Tuesday.
Faight opened the scoring for the Lions as she scored at the 21:57 mark off an assist from Snyder giving Albright a 1-0 lead.
Snyder scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season at the 29:32 mark of the first period to push the Albright lead to 2-0.
Smith opened the scoring for the Lions in the second period as she tallied her sixth goal of the season at the 49:01 mark to extend the Lions lead to 3-0.
Neiderer scored her first goal of the season just 1:14 later, and her unassisted goal stretched the lead to 4-0.
Long finished the scoring for the Lions as she notched her first goal of the year at the 56:54 mark of the second period.
Samantha Vanbeers scored the lone goal of the game for Cedar Crest at the 68:35 mark of the second period.
Aileen Taylor picked up the win for the Lions in net as she made one save in 49:01 of action.
Alicia Moore played the final 20:59 in goal for Albright and made two saves.
Albright improved to 4-3 overall on the season with the victory, while Cedar Crest dropped to 1-5 on the year.
Albright returns to Shirk Stadium on Thursday (Sept. 24) when it hosts Swarthmore at 4 p.m.
