SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Albright freshman
Aileen Taylor made 12 saves, but the Albright field hockey team lost to Susquehanna 1-0 in overtime in the consolation game of the Connie Harnum Classic on Sunday at Susquehanna.
Taylor, a freshman from West Chester, Pa., kept the Lions in the game throughout but Emily Novakovich scored 1:31 into overtime lifting the Crusaders to the victory.
Taylor made five saves in the first period and then added seven saves in the second period as she faced a barrage of shots on the afternoon. Susquehanna (1-1) piled up 36 shots for the game.
The Albright offensive attack was never able to get untracked as the Lions did not manage to record a shot for the game.
Albright dropped to 0-2 on the season with the loss having lost to Kean and Susquehanna in the Connie Harnum Classic.
Albright returns to action on Wednesday (Sept. 9) when it hosts DeSales at 4 p.m. in its home opener in Shirk Stadium.
