Lions Shutout Mighty Macs in 2-0 Win

READING, Pa. – A rainy Monday evening matchup between the women's soccer teams of Albright and Immaculata ended in a 2-0 win for the Lions with a goal from sophomore Autumn Bieber and first career goal from freshman Emily Serpico.

The Lions will improve to 5-3 in non-conference action, while Immaculata falls to 2-7.

The first scoring play came in the 19th minute of the game with a through ball between defenders from junior Lauren Haley to Sophomore Autumn Bieber, who finished the ball high and to the near-post for a 1-0 lead.

Bieber set up a corner kick in the 73rd minute that found the head of Serpico to secure a 2-0 win.

Albright held a strong 18-8 lead in shots taken and had a 10-5 edge in shots on goal.  Bieber paced the Lions with six shots, all of them on target, followed by Haley with four shots.  Three Mighty Macs took two shots – Miranda Rojas, Kristen Guthier, and Riley Rudd.
