BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Albright women's soccer team picked up their first win of the 2021 season Tuesday evening as they defeated Bryn Athyn 6-0.
Albright advances to 1-2 overall while Bryn Athyn falls to 0-1-1.
Senior
Carleigh Molinaro had the opening goal of the game in the fourth minute. Senior
Diza Hasanaj kept the momentum going with back-to-back goals in the sixth and eighth minutes, one with an assist from classmate
Autumn Bieber, to give the Lions an early 3-0 lead. Sophomore
Caroline Parker picked up her first collegiate goal late in the 44
th minute to bring Albright's lead to 4-0 at the half.
Hasanaj tallied a hat trick in the 50
th minute of the game with an unassisted goal. Senior
Kate Griffin rounded out the Lions scoring with a goal in the 70
th minute to claim the 6-0 win over Bryn Athyn.
Albright held a sizable 18-4 shot advantage over Bryn Athyn and connected all but one on goal. Albright also took seven corner kicks while Bryn Athyn did not take any. First-year goalkeeper
McKenna LeVan receives the win for Albright after starting and making one save for the Lions in 45 minutes of play. First-year goalkeeper Gianna Juiliano receives the loss for Bryn Athyn despite making 11 saves in 90 minutes of play. Hasanaj led the Lions with six points on the evening.
Albright returns to action on the road Thursday evening as they take on Juniata College at 7pm.
