Reading, PA - The Albright Lions played to a scoreless draw against Alvernia on Wednesday night. The Lions record on the season moves to 2-8-4 overall, and 1-2-1 in conference play. The Golden Wolves move to 3-7-3 and 1-2-1.
Alvernia held a 6-4 shot advantage in the first half, but neither team truly threatened. The biggest moment in th ematch occured in the 53rd minute, when Albright's
Alexis Baez was given a red card, forcing the Lions to play the last 37 minutes down a player.
The Lions defense played well the rest of the way, and were able to prevent the Golden WOlves from scoring. For the game Alvernia outshot the Lions 16-9, and had five corner kicks compared to two for the Lions.
Caroline Perry and
Jada Britton led the way for the Lions with two shots on goal each.
Emily Serpico,
Mackenzie Sowers, and
Kelly Griffin each had one shot on net. Goalie
Alexis Solt made saves on all six shots that she faced.
