ST DAVIDS, Pa. - The Albright women's soccer team (3-11-4, 2-5-1 MAC Commonwealth) earned a come from behind victory against Eastern University (1-11-5, 0-6-2 MAC Commonwealth) on Wednesday afternoon winning the game 2-1. With today's win the Lions have now won two straight against Eastern University.
Eastern and Albright were locked at 0-0 up until the 22nd minute when the Eagles found the opening score. The goal put Eastern in front 1-0 and would lead at halftime by the same score.
The Lions were unable to crack the Eagle defense in the first half but the second half was a different story.
The equalizer came under a minute into the second half for the Lions. Caroline Perry buried the pass from Mackenzie Sowers to tie the game up and gain some momentum.
After more back and forth play, Albright found the goal they were looking for. With less than 10 minutes to play Alexis Baez scored the game winning goal. For Baez it marks her first game winning goal of her career and could not have come at a better time for the Lions.
Alexis Solt finished with three saves in the game. Solt's two biggest saves came in the second half, preserving the tie and keeping the Lions in the game.
Baez finished with two shots on goal, Perry with one and Jada Britton added a shot of her own.

Albright will conclude their 2022 this Saturday (Oct 29) for Senior Day. The Lions will host Hood College starting at 5 p.m. Senior Day ceremonies will occur pregame with the match to follow directly after.
