Grantham, PA - The Albright Lions fell to Messiah College Falcons in the MAC Commonwealth Semifinals on Wednesday night by a score of 6-1. The Lions end their season at 9-10, while Messiah, the 7th ranked team in the country moves to 15-2.

The first quarter saw the Falcons pepper the Lions' goalie with shots, but Veronica Heckman was up to the challenge and made four saves in the opening period. Despite the 7-0 shot differential, the score was 0-0 after one quarter.

In the second quarter, Messiah's potent offense proved to be too much for the Lions to handle as they scored three times, including the first two that happend less than 20 seconds apart.

The Lions would get one goal back early in the second half when a pass from Chelsea Johnson found Olivia Lorah, who put it away for the goal in the 34th minute of the game. But any momentum the Lions had quickly vanished when Falcons scored four minutes later, and then again just 25 second after that, to make it 5-1. Messiah would add one more goal in the third to bring the score to 6-1, the eventual final score.

Messiah outshot the Lions 27-7, and had 15 corners compared to Albright's eight.
