LANCASTER, Pa. - The men's and women's indoor track and field teams began their respective seasons on Friday afternoon competing in the Diplomat Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall. Both men's and women's teams were well represented in the Diplomat Open.
FULL MEET RESULTS
Between the men's and women's teams Albright had seven student athletes achieve MAC qualifying standards in total.
In the women's 60 meter dash Taisha Charles sprinted to a time of 8.58 to earn a MAC qualifying mark. On the men's side Omar Sesay raced to a 7.34 in the 60 meter dash to achieve a MAC qualifying time of his own.
John Villano took fourth in the high jump and earned a MAC qualifying mark in the process clearing 1.80M.
Christian Jusino made his mark in the shot put, turning in a throw of 11.84M, good for a MAC qualifying mark.
In addition to the seven Lions that achieved MAC qualifying standards, six different Lions achieved their personal best in the opening meet of the season.
For the first meet of the season the Lions will look to build on the strong performance and carry the momentum into the new year.

Both men's and women's teams will be off until the new year starting up again in 2023. The 2023 portion of the indoor track schedule begins at the Alvernia Winter Invite on January 14.
