READING, Pa. – The Albright men's tennis team was downed 8-1 by York in MAC Commonwealth action at the Albright College Tennis Courts on Sunday.
 
With the loss, the Lions fall to 1-5 in conference and 5-9 overall. Meanwhile, the Spartans advance to 3-3 in conference and 3-7 overall.
 
York came out of the gates with a 3-0 advantage after claiming all three doubles matches and only allowing for four combined points. The Spartans kept their momentum by taking a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 1 singles spot. Arpit Gainder finally got Albright on the board with a commanding 6-1, 6-1win in the No. 2 singles spot. However, York grasped the final four singles matches to solidify their 8-1 win over Albright.
 
The Lions will close out conference action on Saturday as they travel to Stevenson at 1 p.m.
