Reading PA – The women's soccer team dropped a tightly contested match to visiting Rutgers-Newark. The loss drops the Lions to 1-4-3 on the season.
The first half played to a scoreless draw as both teams looked to gain possession throughout the midfield. There were six shots total in the half with Rutgers-Newark producing five of the six.
The game remained scoreless until the 77
th minute when Rutgers-Newark was finally able to get past the pesky Albright defense. Hannah Crowley collected a bouncing ball and finished from there.
The 77
th minute goal proved to be the difference in the defensive battle allowing Rutgers-Newark to escape with a 1-0 victory.
The first-year goalie 
Alexis Solt was outstanding between the pipes yet again. Solt turned away the opposing attack time and time again finishing with a game high five saves.
The women's soccer team will have a week off before heading to Kings College (PA) for a 1 p.m. kick-off on Saturday, September 24.
