Reading, PA - The Albright Men's Tennis team defeated Misericordia by a score of 7-2 on Friday afternoon. the win improves the Lions' record to 2-3 on the season, while the Cougars fell to 1-1.
In doubles, the Lions were given a point due to Misericordia not being able to field three full teams, meaning there were only two double matches. The pairing of
Arpit Gainder and
Dylan Huha won their match 8-0, while
Kobe Serpa and
Clay Lewandowski fell 8-4. This gave the Lions a 2-1 lead headed into singles.
Mike Vogt finished his match first, defeating his opponent 6-0, 6-2.
Dylan Huha finished his match next, a 6-2, 6-0 victory. The next match to finish was
Kobe Serpa's, as he fell 2-6, 2-6. The Lions would get back to winning when
Arpit Gainder won the match of the day, taking a three set match by a score 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 10-2.
Gavin Buckley would complete the match with a 6-3, 6-1 win.
Up Next - The Lions will conclude their fall season against Lycoming College on Saturday, October 8th at the Albright Tennis Courts. That match will start at 12pm.
