Galloway, NJ - THe Albright Lions Women's Soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Kean University on Sunday, after losing to Stockton University 2-0 on Saturday. Their 0-1-1 record at the Stockton Tournament brings their season record to 1-1-1.
Game One
The Ospreys got out to an early lead on a Sydney Williams goal in the fifth minute. It came on a rebound. Stockton would then extend their lead after a goal in 63rd minute by Riley Finnegan. That would be all the scoring, as the Ospreys would go on to win the game 2-0.
The Lions were outshot 22-3, which kept the Albright goalies busy. Levan McKenna played 50 minutes and made seven saves, while
Alexis Solt played 40 minutes, and made three saves. Both goalies allowed one goal.
Game Two
Kean University got out to a lead in the 37th minute, scoring on a Brooke Pappalardo header off of a corner kick, one of Kean's three corners in the game. After being outshot 4-1 in the first half, the Lions battled back in the second half, and were able to tie things up on an
Alyssa DeVita goal in the 64th minute. The goal was the first of DeVita's career. Neither team would score again, resulting in a 1-1 tie.
Alexis Solt would start for the Lions in goal, and she would play 74 minutes, making one save, and allowing the one goal. McKenna Levan would play the final 16 minutes of the game, and made one save.
Up Next - The Lions will return home for the first of three consecutive home games. They will face off against Juniata College on Wednesday, September 7th. That game will start at 7pm from Shirk Stadium.
