READING, Pa. - The Albright women's soccer team (4-6-2, 0-1-1 MAC Commonwealth) went on the road on Tuesday (Oct. 10) evening squaring off against Penn State Berks (4-6-1) in non conference action. The Nittany Lions won the game by a final of 1-0.
Today's game marked the final non conference game of the 2023 season for the Lions.
The first half came and went with neither team able to solve the opposing team's backlines. After 45 minutes the game remained scoreless.
McKenna LeVan, coming off her second MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week Honor, made three first half saves continuing her strong play this season. Haley Denuto and Gia Glemblocki both recorded one first half shot each for Albright.
Penn State Berks took the lead in the 72nd minute on a fine play from the Nittany Lions on a cross into the box.
The Lions had two corner kicks late in the match looking for the equalizer but were unable to solve the Penn State Berks defense.
Despite the loss, LeVan finished with six saves facing 17 shots overall.
