GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Albright field hockey team (6-8, 2-2 MAC Commonwealth) traveled to nationally ranked #4 Messiah University (12-1, 4-0 MAC Commonwealth) on Wednesday (Oct. 18) evening. The Falcons of Messiah won tonight's game by a final score of 5-0.
Despite tonight's loss, Albright is still positioned well in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) standings after four games sitting at 2-2 in MAC Commonwealth play.
Messiah scored twice in the first period to make a 2-0 game. The 2-0 score would hold until halftime.
Olivia Lorah and
Chelsea Johnson were both credited with first half shots looking to get the Lions on the board.
Messiah would add to their lead in the second half scoring in the third and fourth periods and ultimately taking the match over Albright.
Veronica Heckman was credited with five saves in tonight's match.

The Albright field hockey team will return home on Saturday, October 21 against Hood College for Senior Day. The game is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. with Senior Day festivities occurring prior to the start of the game.
