ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Albright women's track and field team returned to action for the first time in 2024 at the Dutchmen Invitational hosted by Lebanon Valley College. Today's meet is the first for the Lions since December 8 at the Bow Tie Invitational.
Alyssa DeVita claimed first in today's 400m dash.

Alyssa DeVita and
Katelyn Schweitzer were both in action during the 400m dash and the mile run. DeVita finished the 400m dash in 1:07.19 taking 1
st in the event out of six competitors. DeVita's time was nearly a minute better than the rest of the field. Schweitzer finished the race in 1:11.36.
The mile run was next for both competitors and DeVita recorded a time of 6:11.52 while Schweitzer recorded a time of 6:29.17.
Maggie Williams was in action today competing in the pentathlon event. The pentathlon is a five-part event made up of track and field events. The five events are 50m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and the 800m dash.
Williams competed against LVC's Carolina Wegman in the five events. Williams won the shot put between the two with a throw of 9.48m beating Wegman's throw of 8.37m. Williams was also victorious in the fifth and final pentathlon event in the 800m. Williams finished the race in 3:05.39 beating Wegman (LVC) by 21 seconds.
Ambar Duran Tavarez competed in the prelim 55m dash and turned in a time of 9.19. In the 300m dash this afternoon DuranTavarez crossed the finish line in 50.24.
Mary Quinn took aim the high jump and reached a height of 1.35m in the only event of the afternoon for Quinn.

The women's track and field team will be back on the track next Friday, January 19 at Moravian University. The meet is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
