ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Albright women's indoor track and field team were back at it on Friday (Jan. 27) afternoon competing in the Muhlenberg College Invitational throughout the day. Three different Lions set MAC qualfying marks on the day.
FULL RESULTS
A total of five Lions competed in the 400m dash and all five finished in the top 10.
Alyssa DeVita won the event with a time of 1:05.32. DeVita's time qualifies her for the MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships later this winter.
Nyla Callahan qualified for the MAC Indoor Championships taking third with a time of 1:06.33 and was followed by
Eren Tighe who took fourth with a time of 1:08.17.
Katelyn Schweitzer took sixth running to a season best time of 1:11.11.
Leah Brown rounded out the strong performance in the event for the Lions finishing with a time of 1:12.64.
Nyla Callahan took second in the 55m dash with a time of 7.81. The time of 7.81 was just .01 seconds behind the first-place finisher in the event. Callahan improved on her time in the finals from the prelims eight tenths of a second (7.89).
Mary Quinn was in action today in the high jump and cleared a height of 4-07.75. The mark signified a new season best for Quinn in the high jump and booked a trip to the MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Alyssa DeVita took seventh in the mile run. DeVita's time 6:01.76 led the trio of Lions in the field.
Katelyn Schweitzer was also in action in the mile run and turned in a time of 6:28.36 while
Leah Brown finished in 6:40.60 in a solid performance for Albright overall.
Taisha Charles was in action during the 200m dash and turned in a solid time of 30.60.
Up Next:
The indoor women's track and field team will head back to Alvernia next Saturday, February 3. The meet will begin in the morning and carry on throughout the day on Saturday.
