"I am proud of the way we fought today to get the win. It wasn't the prettiest win, but we worked together to get the job done. It was nice to see some of the younger players step up even when the play became chaotic. We will enjoy this home conference win and then come tomorrow, be ready to work hard in preparation for Saturday."
The Lions controlled the pace of the game but were looking to breakthrough after the first three quarters resulted in no goals for either team.
Keliah Santiago answered the call with her fourth goal of the season coming in the first minute of the fourth quarter.
Lillian Tuffy registered her third assist in the process.
The Lions recorded 15 shots to the Eagles' 11 with
Chelsea Johnson having a team high of four on the day.
