Women’s Soccer Falls at Home to Widener

The Lions began their MAC Commonwealth play against the Widener Pride with a 3-0 loss.

READING, Pa. – Women's Soccer (1-7-1, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth) began conference play at home against the Widener Pride (5-6, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth). After 90 minutes of play, the visiting Pride would leave with a 3-0 win.

McKenna LeVan turned in a career performance in net and recorded a career high 19 saves to keep the Lions in the battle until the final whistle.

One of LeVan's best saves came in the second half where the senior slid forward to break up a shot attempt with her foot.

Anna Bien and Gianna Glembockie led the way for the Lions on offense and each recorded shots on goal in an attempt to spark a Lions comeback.

The Lions defense, led by Audrey Solt, held strong in the fast-paced game with frequent shot blocks and breakups to make the Pride work for every bit of their offense.

Up Next:

The Lions will start a long road trip beginning with Delaware Valley (10/19) at 4:00 pm followed by their first MAC Commonwealth game of the year against Alvernia (10/11).
