CHESTER, Pa. – The Albright women's track and field team opened up the 2024 MAC Championships on Thursday afternoon. The 2024 Championships are being held in Chester, Pa on the campus of Widener University.
DAY 1 RESULTS
The Lions were represented in the hammer throw and in the 4x800m relay.
Orianna Edmond competed in the hammer throw and
Alyssa DeVita,
Leah Brown,
Katelyn Schweitzer and
Julia Parmelee competed in the 4x800.
Edmond qualified for the MAC Championships in her first year as a member of the Albright track and field team. The two-sport athlete for the Lions is also a member of the basketball team. Edmond reached a distance of 79'9'' on the third and final throw of the competition.
DeVita, Brown, Schweitzer and Parmelee were in action during the 4x800 relay and turned in a time of 10:51.02. The time was 14 seconds faster than Hood College.

Albright will return to the track tomorrow morning for day two of the MAC Championships. The Championships will get underway at 9:00 a.m. from Widener University.
