GRANTHAM, Pa. – Field Hockey (3-10, 0-3 MAC Commonwealth) played in their third conference game of the season on Saturday afternoon on the road at Messiah (7-6, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth). Messiah protected home field and won 9-0 over Albright.
Today's game marked the first road game for the Lions since October 1. The Lions fared well in their four-game home stand finishing 2-2. A 3-2 overtime win over Gwynedd Mercy and a 5-0 win over King's College came in back-to-back games.
Messiah opened the game with goals in the first period and did not look back as the Falcons picked up their third conference win of the season.
Anna Schuemann started the fourth period for the Lions and proceeded to earn a career high in saves. In the 15 minutes, Schuemann registered five saves.
The often-dynamic offensive duo of
Bobbie Van Oordt and
Keliah Santiago were held in check by the Messiah defense to keep the Lions off the board.
