YORK, Pa. – Women's soccer (0-10-2, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth) opened Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth play on Saturday afternoon on the road at York College (7-3-2, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth). The Spartans won by a final score of 1-0.
The game remained scoreless until the 87
th minute of play. York, who was unable to solve the Lions defense for the overwhelming majority of the game, found a loose ball in the box and deposited it for the game winning goal just before the final whistle.
Alexis Solt and
Paisley Tornatore combined for the 90 minutes in goal denying York from scoring time and time again. Solt finished with three saves while Tornatore finished with six saves.
Albright came into the game with a strong gameplan and nearly executed it to perfection. York scored nine goals their last time out and were held to just one goal today.
The backline of Albright did well to no let the York forwards get by them as the Spartans were called for seven offside infractions.
