West Chester, Pa. – The 2025 women's outdoor track and field schedule began on Saturday afternoon for the Lions as the team competed in the Purple and Gold Open on the campus of West Chester University.
As team the Lions earned six points on their way to a 17
th place finish in the Purple and Gold Open. Albright beat four other teams in the field including Division II teams such as Mansfield.
Julia Parmelee is fresh of her basketball season for the Lions competing in her first track event of the season. Parmelee competed in the 400m race and won her heat with a time of 1:07.92. the time was good for 17
th overall in the event.
Maggie Williams is coming off a strong indoor season taking her talents now to the outdoor side of the sport. In the discuss, Williams blew by the MAC qualifying mark with a throw of 31.14m to take 8
th overall in the event and earning a team point for Albright in the process.
Williams was not done for the day as the sophomore Lion took 16
th overall in the shot put with a throw of 9.47m. The throw meets the qualifying standard for Williams who now qualifies for the 2025 MAC outdoor Championships.
Elle Haddon wasted no time earning a MAC standard mark in the javelin. Haddon's throw of 32.22m was the fourth best throw in the field and the second best of all Division III competitors.
