NEWTOWN, Pa. – Mackenzie Dover of the women's basketball team and
Eric Chamberlain of the men's basketball team were named to their respective Academic All-MAC teams as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
The winter and spring Academic All-MAC teams recognize the top student-athletes both in the classroom and in athletic competition during the 2025 spring semester. The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.
Mackenzie Dover earned a spot on the women's basketball All-MAC Academic team after an outstanding senior campaign for the Lions. Dover started 23 games for Albright on her way to being named an All-MAC First Team Selection.
The Lion guard averaged 13.3 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, 3.1 assists per game and 2.0 steals per game. On January 25
th of this year, Dover became the 19
th player in Albright women's basketball history to reach and surpass the 1,000-career point mark. Dover finished with 1,088 career points, placing fourth all-time in school history.
Eric Chamberlain landed a spot on the All-MAC Academic team after an outstanding 2024-25 season as a senior that also saw him earn a spot on the All-MAC First Team.
Chamberlain averaged 18.0 points per game, 3.2 assists per game and led the conference in steals per game (2.6) and total steals (64). After a four-year playing career, Chamberlain exits Albright as the school's all-time career steals leader (236) as well as setting the single season steals record (72) in the 2022-23 season.
On December 29, 2024, Chamberlain scored his 1,000
th career point, becoming the 41
st player in Albright history to reach the impressive career mark. After 100 career games played for the Lions, Chamberlain ended his career with 1,299 career points tying Albright Hall of Famer John Scholl for 22
nd all-time in school history.
For Dover and Chamberlain today's honor marks the first time each student athlete earned a spot on the conference's All-MAC Academic teams in their Albright careers.
