Women’s Soccer Honors Seniors against Hood

The Lions celebrated senior day which resulted in a 1-1 draw with the Blazers.

READING, Pa. – Women's Soccer (7-5-1, 1-1-1 MAC Commonwealth) returned to Shirk Stadium for their third conference game of the season against Hood (2-8-2, 0-1-2 MAC Commonwealth). One early goal from each team wound up being the only scoring in what ended in being a 1-1 draw.

Prior to the opening kick, the Lions honored seniors Paisley Tornatore, Audrey Solt, Jaylin Sheffield, Haley Denuto and Kassidy Phillips.

After the Blazers struck first in the 22nd minute, Gabby Verdone answered back just 39 seconds later to tie things up at one apiece.

While neither team would go on to score for the rest of the game, each squad lacked no offensive opportunities. Daiveni Fisher led all players with eight shots and helped create a plethora of quality scoring chances for her teammates.

Joining Fisher with multiple shots were Sheffield, Daniela Castillo and Solt.

Olivia Reinhart made five saves in goal and turned away a number of additional scoring opportunities to keep her team within reach until the final whistle.
