Field hockey falls to Eastern in MAC tilt

READING, Pa. - The Albright College field hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision to visiting Eastern University in a MAC Commonwealth contest on Wednesday afternoon.

The Eagles generated a pair of penalty corners in the opening period, but the Albright defense stood tall and denied any goals as the teams played to a scoreless tie through the first 15 minutes of play. In the second period, Eastern opened up the scoring with a goal off a penalty stroke at the 17:16 mark of the game. The visitors added to their lead with another tally early in the third period. The Lions defense remained strong and kept within striking distance until the Eagles found the back of the cage with under one minute remaining in play.

Aniek Oostendorp led the Lions with two shots (one on goal), followed by Jessica Butz and Charissa Yerger with one shot each. Delana Dunkelberger, coming off of career-high 16 saves against Alvernia, finished with 13 stops.
