Men's tennis edged in hard fought battle with Moravian

Lions suffer 4-3 setback on the road

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Albright College men's tennis team suffered a 4-3 setback to Moravian University in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions picked up the point in doubles action after sweeping all three matches. The No. 1 doubles team of Renato Orsi and Enrico Pucci battled to a 7-5 win, while the duo of Matias Contreras and Migel Munoz Coryn won by a similar score at the third spot. The No. 2 tandem of David Garces Cifuentes and Nicolas Vallejo were 6-3 winners.

Orsi found himself in a battle at the top singles bout. He won the first set tiebreaker by a score of 7-4 and was winning 1-0 in the second set tiebreaker before his opponent retired from the match. Contreras was also won in thrilling fashion out of the second singles flight. The sophomore dropped the first set by a 6-3 margin, before picking up a 7-3 victory in the second set tiebreaker. Contreras sealed the victory with a 6-1 win the decisive final set. Cifuentes was edged by a score of 7-5, 1-6, 6-2 out of the third singles spot.
