READING, Pa. – Women's wrestling is set to begin competition for the inaugural season of women's wrestling in the winter of 2026. Kathryn Berger has been named assistant coach working with first year head coach Christopher Leese.

Berger is a recent graduate of Alvernia University where she was a member of the Golden Wolves women's wrestling team. Berger was a four-year member of the team and competed in the team's first ever season in 2022-2023. In the program's first ever home dual win, Berger won by fall at 1:17 helping Alvernia beat Cedar Crest 28-21.

Also, during her time at Alvernia, Berger played one season of field hockey, helping the team to an ECAC Championship in 2024.

The two-sport athlete graduated from Alvernia with a degree in finance.
