GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – Women's Soccer (6-4-1) traveled to face Gwynedd Mercy (2-7) following their historic victory on Thursday. The Lions controlled all facets of the game for 90 minutes resulting in a 3-0 shutout in their final non-conference game of the season.
Daiveni Fisher struck first for the Lions after drawing a penalty in the 18
th minute of play for what was her second penalty goal of the season. Fisher was a force for the Lions all day and led all players with six shots and picked up as second goal in the 85
th minute of play.
Joining Fisher with multiple shots were
Audrey Solt and
Jamie Murray who each provided additional firepower off the bench in a game where the Lions picked up 17 total shots.
Prior to Fisher's second goal,
Jaylin Sheffield wasted no time in the second half and struck exactly at the conclusion of the 48
th minute to put the Lions firmly in the driver's seat.
Despite the score, the Griffins kept the Lions' defense on their toes with consistent offensive pressure. Even with the pressure,
Olivia Reinhart saved all six shots she faced and continues to be as reliable as the Lions can ask for out of a first-year goalkeeper with a save percentage sitting at 80%.
