NEWTOWN, Pa. — The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has named Marcelo Menchaca (men's tennis) and Jonatan Liljeblad (men's golf) as MAC Commonwealth Players of the Week.

Menchaca played a vital role in securing the 4-3 win over Muhlenberg on Wednesday (Sept. 23) with his dominant performance. In No. 2 singles, he took on Ryan Hart, winning 6-4, 6-0. In doubles play with Nicolas Vallejo, they were able to defeat Matt Miller and Casey Knipe in a 6-3 battle.

Men's tennis will be on the road today (Sept. 29) at West Chester University. They'll take to the courts at 3:30 p.m.

Liljeblad has earned his second MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week nod for the fall season. At The Gauntlet tournament at Hawk Point Golf Club, Liljeblad had another championship-level performance, taking home his second straight tournament title. During the two days of play, Liljeblad saw himself with a final score of 140 (-4). On day one, he shot a 71 (-1) and followed that up on day two with a 69 (-3). Liljeblad was able to record eight birdies along the 36 holes of play. 

The men's golf "A" team will be headed to Waynesboro Country Club in Waynesboro, Pa., for the Mason-Dixon Collegiate tournament on October 10-11. Tee times are yet to be announced.
