CARLISLE, Pa. – Men's golf turned in one of there best performances in program history this past weekend at the Dickinson Invitational.
Andrew Kowalinski bested the field with a two-day score of 136 finishing at eight under par. During the first round the team set a new single day program record shooting a 289 collectively.
RESULTS
Over the holiday weekend the Albright men's golf team had arguably one of their best tournaments in program history. The historic weekend included a program record, individual low medalist honors as well as many strong performances from up and down the lineup.
Kowalinski opened the invitational with a dazzling round of 67 to sit at five under par heading into day two. The first-year from Lancaster, Pennsylvania was even par through two holes which included a birdie and a bogey. Over the next 16 holes Kowalinski found five birdies which included a stretch of five birdies within seven holes.
The strong opening round propelled Kowalinski to end day one among the tournament leaders. Picking up right where he left off on day two, Kowalinski fired a four under par 32 front nine to open the second round. From there the first-year Lion was able to close out the tournament to win low medalist honors finishing two strokes better than the second-place finishers with an end score of 136.

August Fredrik Alhanko and
Filip Hjerten combined to set the new program record who played this weekend on the "A" team for Albright. The new scoring record of 289 was two strokes better than the previous program record set last season at the DeSales University Fall Classic. Additionally, it is the first time ever Albright has finished a round with a team score below 290.
The top four individual scores of the round go into the overall team score. All five of the scores for the Lions ended in the 60's and 70's, furthering proving the strong play that was on display during the opening round.
McKechan finished with a two-day score of 144 to take home a T13 finish and was followed by Stoner who finished with a 148.
Fredrik Alhanko was one stroke behind Stoner finishing with a 149. Liljeblad was his usual consistent self, totaling a 152 across the two days. Hjerten rounded out the "A" team with a 156 capping off an incredible weekend for the team.

Kellan Smith and
Thomas Kowalinski were all members of the "B" team who finished with a higher team score than their Lion counterparts.
Bailey totaled 151, DiRita 154, Smith 154 and T. Kowalinski 161. The five golfers finished better than 12 other "A" institutions that were in this past weekends field.

Albright will host the Berkleigh Challenge this weekend beginning Friday (Sept. 11) and concluding on Saturday (Sept. 12). The two-day event will be held at Berkleigh Golf Club in Kutztown, Pa. Both days will get underway at 11:00 a.m.
