Rebekah Hess

Rebekah Hess enters her third season as the assistant coach of the Albright Field Hockey program.

The 2018 season for the Lions ended with an 8-10 overall record.  Hess helped coach an Albright player to All-ECAC Second Team Honors and four players to All-Conference Field Hockey Teams – one First-Team, two Second-Team, and one Honorable Mention.

Head coach Sarah Brant and Hess led the 2017 team to berths in the MAC Commonwealth and ECAC Tournaments with a 9-10 overall record and 4-3 record in conference play.  The pair coached two players to All-MAC Commonwealth honors and goalkeeper Aileen Taylor tied the school record with six shutouts in a single season.

Hess earned her B.S. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Lynchburg while stepping into the starting goalkeeper role for the Hornets her sophomore year; she led the team in the goal to a 15-7 record and posted four shut-out victories.  Hess’s junior campaign saw 96 saves and a .787 save percentage, leading her to All-ODAC Third Team Honors.  Hess started all 18 games her senior year, earning 10 wins and making 105 saves.  Her 1.88 goals allowed average ranked her fifth in the conference and she earned All-ODAC Third Team and ODAC All-Tournament Team honors.

The Virginia Beach, Va. native is currently working towards her M.S. in Education here at Albright, with anticipated graduation in May of 2020.
