Barry Stebbins has been an assistant with the Albright track and field program for 19 years after previously coaching at Kutztown University and North Dakota State University.
Stebbins was an All-American athlete at Mount Saint Mary's College, winning NCAA Division II national championships in the decathlon in 1975 and 1976. He was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in 1983.
He was a six-time All-American, and was featured in Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd after five top-two finishes at the Mason-Dixon Championships as a sophomore.
Stebbins also competed with the Mount Saint Mary's soccer team, earning four All-Mason-Dixon selections.
Stebbins graduated from local Oley Valley High School, where he set multiple records and also competed in soccer and basketball. He was a Pennsylvania state champion in the long jump.
A member of the Junior Olympic team, Stebbins won the AAU Region 2 Junior Olympic decathlon championship while in high school.
