Amanda Ashberry has been named the 16th head coach in Albright women’s volleyball program history as announced by the Albright athletic department on Monday, May 4. Ashberry brings with her a wealth of volleyball knowledge, playing collegiately as well as serving as a coach for multiple years.
“I’m really excited for the opportunity to lead this program and build strong connections with our student athletes,” said head coach Amanda Ashberry. “I can’t wait to get to know our team and see what we can accomplish together this fall!”
At Millersville University Ashberry served as an assistant coach with the women’s volleyball program for two seasons. Ashberry helped the Marauders to 21 wins over the two seasons while seeing multiple student-athletes be named to national academic teams.
Ashberry recently served as a coach for the Volleyball League of America (VLA) team SVC Venom. VLA is a premier professional indoor volleyball league that provides high-level, sustainable, and inclusive competitive opportunities for athletes, often serving as a bridge between college and international play. While coaching Ashberry also served as the teams Director of Operations.
“Amanda rose quickly to the top of our search aligning with the mission of Albright College and the women’s volleyball program,” said Athletic Director Rick Ferry. “Amanda brings with her multiple years of volleyball coaching experience, and I am excited to see her lead the program to greater heights now and in the future.”
Ashberry was the assistant coach at Montgomery County Community College for two seasons. At Montgomery County Community College Ashberry helped the team to back-to-back .500 records or better while qualifying for the postseason in the 2023 season.
At the club volleyball level, Ashberry has been heavily involved serving as a youth coach with Surge Volleyball Club and as an official with AAU & USA Volleyball.
Ashberry is a graduate of Kutztown University with a degree in Business Marketing and Finance and later going on to earn her MBA from The Citadel. During her time at Kutztown, Ashberry appeared in 186 sets over three seasons while earning two PSAC Scholar-Athlete awards as a student-athlete. She also served as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Co-Chair and was the President of SAAC at Kutztown.
