James Yenser Named Head Women's Golf Coach

READING, Pa. – Co-Director of Athletics Rick Ferry has announced that James Yenser of Birdsboro, Pa., has been named the new head women's golf coach at Albright College.

Yenser, who has over 15 years of coaching experience, becomes just the second head coach in the history of Albright's women's golf program. His responsibilities will include the recruitment of players and working with each player both on the course and in the classroom.

“We are excited to have Jim join our staff,” Ferry said. “He brings a good golf pedigree as a teacher and a player, and is an individual with great integrity. We look forward to having Jim develop our women's golf program over the coming years.”

Prior to taking over the Lady Lions, Yenser served as the head coach of the Conestoga Christian boys and girls golf teams. During his seven years at Conestoga, Yenser coached two Commonwealth Christian Athletic Conference championship teams and two conference medalists.

Last April, he became one of the primary fitting experts at Golf by Design. As the head of the repair services department, Yenser is responsible for all aspects of the repair and customization services of the golf shop. He is also the company's leading sales professional, and is tasked with selling products and services and working with individual golfers and setting daily target goals.

Before making the jump to Golf by Design, Yenser served as the director of fitting, repair and custom services at Golfdom in King of Prussia. As one of the company's key employees, Yenser established high-end repair and custom services for the $8 million retail golf facility.

His other duties included the promotion of the highly specialized fitting centers and serving as the technical liaison with vendors.

Yenser holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Muhlenberg College and a master's of divinity from the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Mass. From 1988 to 1998, Yenser served as senior pastor at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Birdsboro.
