GLENSIDE, Pa. – It has been a long spring for freshman Victoria Foanio, but on Thursday afternoon the Wyomissing native forever etched her name into the record books at Albright as she broke the season record for most overall single wins and wins at first singles. Foanio now sits with 13 wins on the year, breaking the original record of 12 set by Andrea Dennis '99.

On the year, Foanio holds an overall singles record of 13-3, while in dual match competition she remains at perfect 11-0. Against conference opponents, she improved her record to 5-0. Since Dennis, no other player in program history has remained undefeated to this point in dual competition.

With only two matches remaining in the year, Foanio still remains in the hunt for Dennis' single season winning percentage record of 100% (12-0), which she accomplished in her senior year.

In Thursday's match, Foanio made quick work of her Arcadia opponent Beth Osipowitz with a 6-0, 6-0 decision. She was also victorious at first doubles with teammate Desiree Owle, as the duo recorded an 8-0 win over Osipowitz and Danielle Riggins.

Albright nearly walked away with a second doubles victory as Kelly Irwin and Nazma Ali were defeated in the tie-breaker, 9-7. Ali also went the distance in her fifth singles match forcing the tie-breaker as well. Riggins would earn the decision with a 4-6, 6-4 (10-7) victory.

Women's Tennis returns to their home courts on Monday when they host Lycoming College at 1 p.m. in a conference match.
