After having its season opener pushed back a week due to weather, the Albright College women's tennis won a tight 5-4 match over Immaculata, Wednesday at the Albright tennis courts.
Sophomore
Victoria Foanio, the team's only returner, was instrumental in the victory with sweeps at both singles and doubles. She beat
Felicia Thomas 6-0, 6-0 at first singles and teamed with
Alyssa Sell to win 8-0 in the top pairs spot.
Sell also won her singles match, 6-2, 6-1 over
Julie Einmechter.
Christina Peacock won her opening set but ultimately lost a tough third set to Olivia Kauffman, 6-1, 3-6, 5-10.
The Lions also benefited from two Immaculata defaults in the final singles and doubles spots. Albright is 1-0 on the season and will travel to Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday.
