Box Score
The Albright College women's tennis team improved to 2-0 on the season after a convincing 6-3 victory over Penn State-Harrisburg on Saturday.
After a winless 2010-11 season and a 13-match losing streak, the current Lions roster includes only defending MAC Player of the Year
Victoria Foanio and a host of freshmen, and the rebuilt Albright squad has won their opening two matches of the fall.
Foanio nearly swept her matches, winning 6-0, 6-1 at first singles and 8-1 at first doubles.
Other double-winners included freshmen
Alyssa Sell (second singles and first doubles) and
Melissa Carberry (fourth singles and third doubles).
Abby Walke rallied after a close first set to win 7-5, 6-3 in the sixth singles spot, while
Christina Peacock teamed with Carberry for the victory at third doubles.
The Lions will go for 3-0 tomorrow when they host Penn State-Berks at 11 a.m.
