The Albright College men's basketball team travels to Williamsport, Pa. tonight to take on the Commonwealth Conference second place Lycoming College Warriors. Last time the two meet, in the Albright conference opener, the game ended in a heart wrenching 84-82 Lions loss. Lycoming is looking to sweep the Lions for the first time since 2008, however Albright is more of a competitor then its seventh-place ranking would suggest.
Albright College Lions (11-8, 2-6 Commonwealth Conference)
This past weekend Albright held conference leader Messiah to just 66 points, while senior
Derek Hall posted team-highs in points scored (13) and rebounds (seven). Hall is also coming off of an impressive double-double from the Lions' double overtime victory against Arcadia, where he recorded 20 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Lions in both categories for the game. Hall is currently leading the conference in total rebounds by an impressive 46 boards.
Making every start this year along side Hall is sophomore
Kyle Jordan, who also appears in the conference rebound leaderboard with 116 this season. Jordan recorded a double-double the last time Albright faced the Warriors with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Offensively Jordan has posted 50 made free throws so far this season, which leads Albright.
Other Lions to watch are
Cornell Mickens and
Pedro Perez. Mickens has started 17 games this season and is shooting .833 from the free throw line. Against Messiah Mickens was 3-for-3 from the foul line. Perez has started the last two games for the Lions and came up big in the win against Arcadia, scoring 12 total points and shooting 4-for-9 from outside the 3-point line.
Lycoming College Warriors (16-3, 6-2 Commonwealth Conference)

Kevin Anthony, who is the leading scorer with 286 points this season and is shooting .717 from the foul line. Defensively Anthony is a threat as well, with 36 blocked shots coming into this match up.
