Men's Lacrosse Wins 13-7 at Ferrum

Box Score

The Albright College men's lacrosse team continued its undefeated start, improving to 5-0 with a 13-7 victory at Ferrum on Saturday.

Ryan Turner scored four goals, while Dan Foote also had four goals to go with a pair of assists. T.J. Holston added two goals and an assist.

Philip Potter and Darian Meador have been among the national leaders in their respective categories and continued their top performances, as Potter (last week's national leader in total assists) dished out five of them and Meador won 12-of-20 faceoffs to go with nine ground balls.

The Lions' attack swarmed the Panthers early, as Albright chased Ferrum starting goalie Josh Liptak (11 goals allowed in 36:45) despite him making an impressive 15 saves over that time.

The Red and White scored twice in a 10-second span in the first quarter, as Holston's tally was followed immediately by Turner (from Mike Southwick) right off the draw.

Albright took a 6-0 lead in that opening period, with Mike Donohoe finding Potter for the opener and Holston feeding Foote to make it 4-0 following the Lions' quick double-strike. Justin Brown scored on another Potter assist in the final minute of the first, making it 6-0.

Andrew Senft had five points (2g, 3a) for Ferrum, while Nick Smith (assist) and Andrew Gibeau each scored twice. Brennan Reeder countered Albright's strong faceoff game by winning 6-of-10 draws.

Albright (5-0) will continue its spring break trip in Virginia with a visit to Randolph on Tuesday. Ferrum falls to 2-5 on the year.
